What are your interactions with medical staff like?

Interactions between myself and medical staff are friendly and professional. I believe the best way for you to communicate with medical staff is to be open and honest about all of your goals and concerns. I have several great relationships with members of the medical community and look forward to making more.

Do you perform any physical examinations?

I do not perform physical exams. I am not a medical professional. As a birth doula, I provide informational, physical, and emotional support before, during, and after childbirth.

How will hiring you affect my partner’s role during the birth?

Naturally, birthing people often want their partner to be their number one support person. It is not my place to come between you and your partner, rather I am there to support you both. During birth, my role is to make suggestions, remind you of the options we discussed during prenatal appointments, and help you preform pain management and labor progression techniques.
